Larry Weiss, of Quakertown, Pa., former
Expert dirt tracker, died in Lehigh Valley Hospital on Dec. 13.
Larry was owner of Larry’s Cycles in Quakertown, a repair and salvage shop that every flat tracker in a five-state area had visited at one time or another for parts, advice and good story swapping.
Larry promoted flat track races at the Quakertown Speedway racetrack in the '70s/'80s.
Larry’s son Adam, his brother Kenny and his son are also AHRMA dirt track racers.
Larry’s epic battles with Jim Monegan were the essence of vintage flat track racing.
Larry’s devoted and loving wife, Lil, was always at his side at the track and was at his side when he rode his last lap.
Godspeed, #8K.
Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 18, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Heintzelman Funeral Home, 326 Main St., Hellertown, Pa. There will be a motorcycle procession from the funeral home to his shop and then to the cemetery. Larry's last ride will be in a casket on a sidecar
