February 2008 Club Meeting

Attendees:  Allen Rodi & guest Paula, Beno, Dwayne Smith, David Aldana, Michael Smallwood, Charles Goman, Peggy Cozart, Bill Cobb, Bill Ryburn, Eddie Tumlin Sr, Eddie Tumlin Jr, James Hiter, Nathan Bryant, Darrell Bryant & 2 guests, Lonnie Lewis & 2 guests, Harry Norman, Bob Cassidy & a guest, and Gordon Campbell.

Presidente Goman called the meeting to order.

New club shirts are being considered.  We discussed a range of options, and decided that since the main reason for buying them is club visibility at races, t-shirts are the best option.  Decoration would include screen printed or embroidered club logos & member names / race numbers on the front (like the current knit shirts), and maybe a large screen printed number on the back. Allen suggested revisiting the design, as there are a number of flashy designs available in sports apparel.  If you have a source for reasonably priced printed or embroidered t-shirts or henley shirts, gather the details and be prepared to discuss the designs, colors, sources, and prices at the March meeting.

The March meeting will be held on the second Wednesday of March -- March 12 -- due to bike week.

There is a bike show at the North Atlanta Trade Center Friday, Saturday, & Sunday of this week.

Beno was elected Trustee of AHRMA.

The April meeting is scheduled for April 2.

Diamond Don's is April 4 & 5 this year.  It is held in Jefferson Texas, which alone is worth the trip according to our President.

We are putting on an Aonia Pass race day on April 12.  Events will include AHRMA Southeast motocross, cross country, trials, short track, and TT.  We will offer Modern support classes in short track & TT.

John Astleford is coordinating the AHRMA Southeast trials events this year.

We are putting on an Aonia Pass race day on May 24.  Same events as the April 12 race day.

The club purchased a gas powered air compressor for use in keeping tires on the heavy equipment at Aonia Pass inflated.

AMA cards will be checked at the March meeting.  They are a prerequisite for membership in the club.  Be sure yours is current.

2008 club dues are due.
