Aonia Pass Race Day
September 25, 2010
Our September 25 race day was a success. A moderate but enthusiastic turnout joined us for great weather, good tracks, and some great racing. We had 124 entries including 38 motocross, 14 cross country, 22 TT, 43 short track, and 7 trials entries.
Pat Joyner and her extended family joined us for the Jack Joyner Memorial Short Track; Jack's son Vince and grandsons Jake and Justin joined in the racing as Jack would have wished. We were able to post all of them in the fourth race; grandson Jake was overall winner of that race edging out Eddie Tumlin Jr who rode a borrowed bike. It's a good thing Pat wasn't scoring -- she was so excited over Jake's performance that she couldn't have kept track of laps.
We are also pleased that Doug Ross, Blake's son joined us for the day's racing. We hope to see more of him.
Thanks to the volunteers who joined us & helped put on a great day of racing. Another big thank you goes out to the Wood clan for their huge efforts Wednesday through Saturday. The event would not have been as successful without them.
Dirt Track results are available on the Southeast Dirt Track web site.
Photos of the day's racing taken by photographer Justin Riley will be on his web site soon. Click here to visit his site.
Original Race Overview
Atlanta Motorcycle Club invites you to join us for our September 25th race day at Aonia Pass MX Park in Washington Georgia. The day's keystone event will be the Jack Joyner Memorial Short Track Saturday night. Other events that will take place during the day include TT, youth short track, vintage and post-vintage motocross, cross country, and trials.
We are pleased to be able to designate this short track event in honor of Jack Joyner. He was a long time member of Atlanta Motorcycle Club, AHRMA, and AMA. He was actively involved in motorcyle racing for many years both as a rider and a supporter of the club's racing programs. Click here to read more about Jack.
